ATR Certificate for Transports to Turkey

When you want to transport goods to Turkey you require an ATR certificate. An ATR certificate is a customs document that is used in trade between countries from the European Union and Turkey. Turkey is part of the European Customs Union which allows you to import goods from Turkey without import duties. The Turkish origin of the goods is recorded in the ATR certificate. Do you need help with the layout of an ATR certificate? Feel free to contact us, because our customs warehouse can help you!

The Turkish market

The Turkish economy offers great opportunities. After the crisis in 2001, economic activities grew strongly. Turkey was among the fastest growing economies in the world. The unexpected fall of the Turkish lira in 2006 caused higher inflation and a tightening of monetary policy. As a result, economic growth leveled off. But from 2010 Turkey has enjoyed the same growth rate as before the crisis which makes Turkey one of the fastest growing economies in Europe.

Geographically the majority of the country is located in Asia, but the oldest and western part of Istanbul (the largest city in Turkey) is in Europe. The Asian and European parts of Turkey are separated by the Dardanelles, the Sea of Marmara and the Bosporus, which together connect the Mediterranean Sea with the Black Sea. Politically and historically Turkey is generally thought of as European, but for cultural and religious reasons the country is often considered part of Asia. The state has 6530 km of coastline and borders Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Iraq, Iran and Syria.
